Akira Ransomware Launches New Variant After March 2025
Recently, Yohanes successfully cracked the Linux version of the Akira ransomware using a brute-force method, leveraging the power of 16 GPUs. Following this breach, the Akira ransomware group updated their encryptor, patching the vulnerability and remaining silent for a month. They have now resurfaced with a more advanced version of the ransomware.
The new variant is written in the Rust programming language and utilizes a hybrid ChaCha encryption algorithm, making it significantly harder to crack. There are also rumors that the group is working on quantum-resistant encryption techniques.
Despite these upgrades, our team continues to successfully decrypt both the Windows and Linux versions of the Akira ransomware. Our decryptor operates through secure online servers to bypass the encryption mechanisms, and we are consistently achieving excellent results.
